You will only be needed at the movement call and or callbacks if necessary for us to gather more information about your skill set and work.

WHAT
The 2023 Season Auditions will be for 2023 programming including the six mainstage shows, ancillary workshops/ readings and the “Putting It Together” Summer Intensive. On the audition panel will be Artistic and Managing Director, Alessandro Costantini, Artistic Associates Ruthie Nkut, Janie Pinard and Resident Production Manager Morgan Cook.

ON THE DAY

Auditions will be divided into 10-minute slots. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to sign in. Please feel free to bring water with you into the audition room and you can use the lobby area to warm up. Dress how ever you feel most comfortable! We will chat a bit and then jump into engaging your prepared material. You can expect to get some re-direction if needed!

We are looking for artists who live, work and play in our community and who believe in the value of artistic connection. We encourage artists from all walks of life, those who identify as Indigenous, persons of colour, members of the LGBTQ2+ community, those of any age, be it 5 or 75, to apply. At this time we are only accepting Northern Ontario-based submissions. Please look out for Toronto generals information to be held in the spring of 2023.

HOW TO AUDITION

Book your audition slot by emailing [email protected] and include a headshot and a resume if available. You can also include a small paragraph about yourself or the specific projects in which you are interested. Please make the subject line 2023 AUDITION: FIRST NAME LAST NAME. We will be accepting audition bookings until all spots are filled! We may add time slots if necessary.

Prepare your audition. You can perform either of the following:

One monologue of your choice from a play or musical. If you’re interested in Romeo & Juliet specifically, please prepare a Shakespeare monologue of your choosing from any play. 

OR

One song of your choice that highlights your range and storytelling abilities.

If you cannot attend in person and would like to audition via video submission, please send a YouTube link with your material that is five minutes or less. Make the subject line 2023 AUDITION VIDEO: FIRST NAME LAST NAME. Video submissions must be submitted by 16 JAN 2023.

NON-PERFORMER SUBMISSIONS

If you work in other theatrical disciplines (stage management, set design, costume design, sound, music, scenic paint, prop building, lighting, carpentry, sewing and more) and would like to submit, please send a 1 to 4 minute creative video detailing your work, your interest and some of the areas in which you’d like to participate. Please include a resume if you have one!

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT

FOREVER AND FOR ALWAYS: THE MUSIC OF SHANIA TWAIN

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME

Novel by Mark Haddon, adapted to the stage by Simon Stephens, Directed by Jeanette Lambermont-Morey, this is a beautiful, dazzlingly inventive show about the wonders of life. Christopher, 15 years old, stands beside Mrs. Shears’ dead dog that has been speared with a garden fork. It is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain. He is exceptional at math, while everyday life presents some barriers. MATILDA
