Exploration and fun are the keywords for Sudbury Theatre Centre’s week-long Summer Theatre Camps! Our camp instructors will lead a series of fun, collaborative activities designed to build imagination, confidence, creative expression and lasting friendships.
SUMMER DRAMA CAMPS
CAMP 1: Monday 4 JULY to Friday 8 JULY 2022 – 9 am to 4 pm
CAMP 2: Monday 8 AUG to Friday 12 AUG 2022 – 9 am to 4 pm
Students may register for only one of the two drama camp sessions
AGES 8 to 12 | $275 (HST incl.)
This week-long activity introduces campers to the concepts and vocabulary of drama through cooperative theatre-based games and exercises. Campers will develop an understanding of the principles of dramatic storytelling while engaging in scene work and character work, leading to an informal showcase presentation at the end of the week.

CAMP 2: Monday 15 AUG to Friday 19 AUG 2022 – 9 am to 4 pm
Students may register for only one of the two musical theatre camp sessions
AGES 8 to 12 | $275 (HST incl.)
Working in a collaborative and creative atmosphere, students will expand their performance skills in acting, voice and movement while further developing their knowledge of the various backstage aspects of putting on a theatrical production. Participants will share what they’ve learned as part of an informal showcase presentation at the end of the week.
GARRETT CARR | Instructor, Drama Camp 1
Garrett recently completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance at Thorneloe University, having already completed a diploma in Theatre Arts – Technical Production from Cambrian College. He served as co-director of The Wind in the Willows in May 2019, and stage-managed our 2018 SOS production of Alice in Wonderland. Garrett has also performed in the North Bay Fringe Festival and performed, directed and stage-managed for various productions at Thorneloe University.
ALEX PANNETON | Instructor, Musical Theatre Camp 1
Alex is a Toronto-based actor, musician and writer as well as a graduate of Sheridan College’s Musical Theatre Performance program. He has performed in several YES Theatre productions, both on stage and in the pit. Alex has had the pleasure of performing in musicals all over Canada, but there’s nowhere he prefers to be than Sudbury.
KASSANDRA BAZINET | Instructor, Drama Camp 2 and Musical Theatre Camp 2
Sudbury-based artist, Kassandra Bazinet, has been honing her skills as a professional artist and instructor for the last 15 years. Having grown up in theatre, Kassandra has been featured in productions such as RENT, Les Misérables, The Wedding Singer, Shrek the Musical and STC’s original production #TheWaterTower. At the age of 18, she opened Sudbury School of Performing Arts, where she taught instrumental music, theatre and performance. After returning home from two musical world tours, Kassandra opened her own entertainment company We Bring the Party which provides magical theatrical performances to kids around the community. She is very excited to be taking over as the STC summer camp instructor and can’t wait to see what this season has in store.

Space is limited to 20 campers per week – registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is not complete until payment is received. To provide payment, visit the STC Box Office, open Tuesday and Wednesday 10am to 3pm, and Thursday and Friday 12pm to 6pm. We can also take payment over the phone – you can reach our Box Office at 705 674 8381 x21. If no one answers, please leave a message with your name, phone number and the purpose of your call. Our box office staff will call you back to process your payment.
