Discover. Develop. Play. Perform.
Theatre isn’t all about being the centre of attention. It builds confidence and self-esteem, challenges an individual’s comfort level and breaks down social barriers. The STC Academy introduces participants of all ages and experience levels to the magic of theatre in a supportive, social, and non-threatening environment. Our classes are led by skilled and highly-trained instructors with extensive teaching backgrounds. Students are exposed to a wide range of games, exercises, and experiences that are tailored to any skill level. All classes end with a presentation for family and friends.

- Each class will be 60-75 minutes long (subject to change, depending on enrolment)
- Classes will be held in spaces that allow for appropriate physical distancing
- The wearing of masks is recommended, but no longer mandatory (subject to change)
- Students will enter through the front doors and exit through the stage door to control indoor traffic
- Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building and in the washrooms
- Each class will present a closing recital for invited family members. If a change in the public health situation precludes offering a live event, student performances will be recorded and posted to our private YouTube channel for viewing by parents and other family members.
This class is designed to offer students an opportunity to awaken talent within themselves and gain confidence as they learn the basics of performance.
This class offers students who have mastered some of the basics the opportunity to develop their performance skills through both theatre exercises and scripted scenes.
